One of our favorite aasanas ( positions/poses ) in our school days is ‘Shava Asana’ (corpse pose). Many of our classmates used to sleep when Shava Asana was allowed to perform. This asana is typically done following a challenging asana. It is one of the yoga poses designed to give the body a rest.

Though it appears to be simple, it is all about controlling breath. The correct inhaling and exhaling is the key to the best results. It improves memory, lowers blood pressure, lessens sleeplessness, and aids in body relaxation.
